This is a modern British antique furniture classic the "New Menton" armchair designed by Robin Howland c1960. Produced by Parker Knoll (model PK940). Original teak frame and tension-sprung seat, new velvet upholstery. Produced by Parker Knoll during Hans Jourdan's era of modern designs.

 

This chair features in Lesley Jackson's "Modern British Furniture Design since 1945" as one of Parker Knoll's flagship post-war designs. They are becoming increasingly hard to find.
